Today, I want to brag on my husband, Jay. He is so good to me and never ceases to amaze me. Since he is my other half, I figured it would be appropriate to talk about him on “About Me Monday”.
A good friend of mine attended high school with Jay and brought him to church. After a while, Jay started attending regularly and we became really close friends. One day, he asked me to a Valentine’s banquet and the rest is history.
We have been together for almost 11 years now. We met when we were quite young and therefore had to date for quite some time before we were married. On July 4th, 2011 he got down on one knee in the Park of Roses and said, “Roses are red, I’m down on one knee, Brittany Lytle, will you marry me?” AWWWWW!!!! I cried….and I said YES! I was completely surprised by his proposal because we had talked about it several times and had decided to wait until both of us had graduated college to get married. Plans changed. We were married on August 11th, 2012, just 3 months after I graduated and 2 years before he would graduate. We were poor, but we had love and we made it work. We have now been married for a little over 3 years.
Jay has always been there for me through good times and not so good times. He has loved me unconditionally when I most certainly did not deserve it.
Jay received his local ministers license from the United Pentecostal Church International in April 2008. He graduated from The Ohio State University in June of 2010 with a Bachelors of Science degree and from Purpose Institute with a Bachelors of Ministerial Studies degree the very same day. In May of 2014 he graduated from The Ohio State University again, this time with his Doctor of Optometry degree. He currently works part time at Albright and Schnulo Family Eye Care in Worthington, OH and part time as the clinical director at TLC Laser Eye Center in Dublin, OH.
He is my world and I love him with all my heart. He is been my biggest supporter and my best friend. I am beyond thrilled to spend the rest of my life with him.
