This week’s tip is more for clients than for photographers, and specifically for moms.
Are you the one most often behind the camera snapping beautiful pictures of your child? Do you take photos of your precious baby with daddy, grandma, grandpa and everyone else? Have you noticed that you are very rarely photographed with your child?
One of the most common things I hear from moms during a family photo shoot is, “I have hardly any photos of baby & me, would you mind taking one.” So often, you are concerned with making sure you document the important times in your child’s life and forget that you are one of the most important parts. Keep in mind that when your child grows up, they will want to look back and see photos of the two of you together. Some of my favorite images are those of moms and their children. I love capturing that sweet bond that only a mother and child can share.
Please, please, please, take the time and effort to include yourself in the photos. For you that may mean handing the camera to dad or having your pictures taken by a photographer. Either way, always remember, YOU are important too!
P.S. I will be holding mommy & me photo sessions again this year around Mother’s Day. Stay Tuned for details.
