It’s not too often that I have the honor of photographing my own family but I was so thankful that my parents agreed to allow me to update their photos.  My parents were a lot of fun to photograph and my dad ended up laughing during almost every pose. These photos truly capture the love they have for each other.

5 Things I Am Thankful For | Thanksgiving 2016 | Dublin Ohio Photographer

While I am thankful for many things this year, there are 5 specific things I want to mention (in no particular order).

1) My husband.

I have no idea what I would do or where I would be without this amazing man in my life. He has been there through everything and I know he always will be. I do not deserve all he has done and all he has been for me. I love you Jay!

2) My Family.

Family has always meant so much to me. Growing up, I always got so excited when my family got together. I love you all so much and I thank you for always supporting me.

3) My Church & Church Family

The church I currently attend is the church I have attended for my entire life. I met my husband there, I have so many amazing friends there, and I have people who love me like family and pray for me daily. I am so blessed!

4) Our new house.

I grew up living in more of a country setting where we had over an acre of land and a decent amount of privacy. We could only hear our neighbors if they were having a loud party. For the past 4.5 years I have lived in little apartments with no land and neighbors that I can hear cough and sneeze. What I am trying to say is, apartment living was never for me and I am so ready to have our own place.

5) Peanut Butter M&M’s.

So I know this is a little funny but it is also very true. I have no idea what I would do without them. Yummy!

Fall Mini Sessions | Family Pictures | Dublin Ohio Photographer

I am so very thankful for all of the amazing families I met through this year’s fall mini sessions. This year, fall mini sessions took place at Red Trabue Nature Preserve in Dublin, Ohio. Here is a peak at just a few of my favorite photos of these precious families.

On Thanksgiving I had the honor of photographing my sister and her family. It took quite a bit of convincing for her husband to be in the pictures and the girls were not cooperating. In the end we were able to get a few pictures and my brother-in-law won’t have to worry about another photo session now for several years.

About Me Monday: Christmas Edition | Central Ohio Photographer

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas this year. Last week, my “about me” blog post featured photos of what Christmas prep looks like at my house. I had not yet started my Christmas baking though, so I will start this week’s post with photos of my delicious treats.

The first image (top left) is the Reese’s Pieces I had to hand chop for one of my recipes. It took quite a long time but it was worth it. The photo on the top right is my cookies and creme bars. While they were pretty good, they were also SUPER rich and will more than likely not make the cut as a repeat recipe. The image below that is absolutely going to be an annual dessert, it is triple peanut butter puppy chow and it got rave reviews. You will find my Reese’s fudge on the bottom right and a new sugar cookie recipe on the bottom right. Overall, desserts went well this year and I had fun trying so many new recipes.

Christmas morning at our house began with breakfast. This year I tried homemade cinnamon rolls. They had an interesting texture but tasted pretty good.

After breakfast, we opened our stockings and did a few other things before heading to my parent’s house where my sister, brother-in-law, and two nieces joined us. Before opening any gifts, my niece read the Christmas story.

The kids kicked off the gift opening frenzy.

My parents both received special personalized gifts from their granddaughter’s.

My mom’s gift was a coffee mug with a photo of the girls and my dad’s present was a shirt that says, “if papa can’t fix it, no one can.”

Next we opened the stockings.

After Christmas at my parent’s house, we headed over to my grandparent’s house to spend some time with my dad’s side of the family. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any photos, but we had a lot of fun playing games and catching up.

On Saturday, we went to my mom’s parents house and had a delicious dinner and opened a few more gifts.

Overall, we had a great Christmas and we are looking forward to all of the great things to come in the new year.
